COX's Bazar, Bangladesh - On Monday morning, a group of fishermen captured almost 300 maunds (11,100 kg) of fish in a single throw of the net, earning them Tk 600,000 ($6,988 U. S. Dollars).
Md Kalim Ullah, a fisherman from Majher Para, and his team caught the fish near Shah Pori's Island's Pashchim Para beach in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.
They retrieved the boon from the sea on Monday morning during low tide.
The news of the massive harvest spread, and locals flocked to Shah Pari Island's western beach to behold the cornucopia of fish caught with a single cast of the net.
Wholesalers purchased all the fish from Kalim Ullah and his team. Although some fish will be sold fresh in local markets, the majority will be processed into dried fish.
