China stages turnaround against Thailand in World Cup qualifier

BANGKOK, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- China registered a comeback win in the opening match of 2026 World Cup qualifiers Round 2 after they beat Thailand 2-1 here on Thursday.
Sarach Yooyen put the host ahead in the 23rd minute through a counterattack, but Wu Lei's slide-in and Wang Shangyuan's diving header helped China complete the comeback win.
China will next host South Korea on November 21.
