TOKYO, Japan - In a rather unusual piece of crime story that hit headlines in Japan, a 50-year-old man’s dead body was discovered six months after he was buried under a massive pile of pornographic magazines.
According to reports, the Japanese man, was a resident in the Kanagawa prefecture and a former worker at a car factory.
The corpse of the porn aficionado, identified as Joji, was discovered by his landlord, who barged into his tenant’s apartment after he fell behind on his rent.
A report in Mirror U.K. said that the man was found submerged under his 6-ton collection of filthy magazines.
A report in Japan’s Nikkan said that a cleaning crew was hired to remove the man’s stash of erotic magazines and the cleaner was quoted as saying that the man might have suffered a heart attack.
He also said that Joji had filled every part of the house with magazines and clippings of his favorite sections from his smut collection, along with a few videos. Tables and shelves were stacked with slippery glossy magazines, that might have made the situation worse, he said.
The report also quoted Takada Takeshi of Mind Company of Special Cleaning and Artifacts Organisation that cleared the flat, as saying, "There was six tons of adult magazines alone. We tried to dispose of all the adult toys in the room so the bereaved families will not be aware of them."
