MANILA -- The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,067 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Southeast Asian country to 580,442.
The death toll climbed to 12,369 after 47 more patients died from the viral disease, the DOH said. It added 144 more patients recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 534,463. (Philippines-COVID-19 cases)

SEOUL -- South Korea on Tuesday unveiled the fourth round of relief package worth 19.5 trillion won (17.3 billion U.S. dollars) to financially support millions of microbusiness owners hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
To fund the aid package, the government proposed a supplementary budget worth 15 trillion won (13.3 billion U.S. dollars), according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance. (South Korea-Relief package)

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally rose to 11,124,527 on Tuesday, as 12,286 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, according to the latest data from the federal health ministry.
The official data shows that the death toll mounted to 157,248 as 91 COVID-19 patients died since Monday morning. There are still 168,358 active cases in the country, while 10,798,921 people have been discharged so far from hospitals after medical treatment. There was a decrease of 269 active cases during the previous 24 hours. (India-COVID-19 tally)

KATHMANDU -- A massive fire that broke on Tuesday morning has gutted around 40 houses at Dobhan Bazaar, a small town, in Taplejung district of eastern Nepal.
